The Inaugural match between India & Bangladesh is on while writing this blog. India has put a mammoth target of 370 runs in front of Bangladesh. Match is quite interesting as the host have fought well and has scored 264 till now, but still India is at better position. Everyone is glued to their TV set as the match is quite interesting. But have you noticed that there is something else that makes the matches more interesting. Yes, its the innovative and fresh advertisements that are broad casted during breaks. I personally enjoy them very much. You must have noticed the difference in ads broad casted during cricket season. Almost all of them will have a taste of cricket will a new look and new theme. Every advertisement better than other. With cricket breaking the demographic barrier the advertisements also does the same. You can find ads for every class and every age. Unlike conventional TV programs here almost all products can be showcased on a single platform. A boon for the marketing manager where they don't have to relate the program with their products in which their ads will be showcased. It's also a win win situation for advertisement firms when most of the products come up with new advertisements. So lets hope for interesting advertisements along with competitive matches during this world cup and pray for India to win.

Something was missing at CWG '10 opening ceremony

It was the evening of the 3rd day of October, 2010. Billions of eyballs were directed towards the National Capital, New Delhi. India stood to the expectations of those eagerly waiting eyballs and at last the growing super power showcased her brilliance to the world at the gala opening ceremony of Commonwealth Games 2010. The perfect combination of tradition and technology helped the world to know about India in a span of three hours. Be it the traditional dance form or the yoga act or the Bharat Darshan by Indian railway, each and every act revealed India's traditional value with a tinge of modernity. For those who were lucky enough to book a berth at JLN Stadium, it must be the most memorable day of their life and for others our very own Doordarshan was there to show case the programme LIVE. But something was missing during the Live telecast. Those who watched the programme must have noticed a new set of advertisers. A very uncommon for an sporting event. The tradional PEPSI, COLA , NIKE and REEBOK were off air. Forced sponsorship was clearly visible from the advertisements that cropped up at regular intervals. Ads from state tourism were acceptable but what was Indian railway trying to advertise with the song "Rail gaddi...". Barring one or two private advertisers only the public sector companies were there during the breaks to increase the GK about Navratnas. DD was able to achieve a decent 3.6 TRP during the live telecast. Few new comers in mobile phone sector were able to sense this opportunity and utilised it to make their presence felt among the mass consumers. It was really painful to see the big Indian corporates pulling out their hands from the khel kumbh. They were all missing at CWG '10 opening ceremony. I belive that they not only missed a chance to broadcast their patriotism but also missed the chance to touch the hearts of mass consumer.

"RANN"

"Rann" the latest flick by Ram Gopal Verma. A well scripted movie about the growing News channels making them aware of their responsibilities. Well we can't say the movie was awesome but it will make you fell ashamed of the India's current situation. How cunning the politicians could be to get their share of power is clearly depicted in this movie. A very pertinent question is raised in this movie, " Why should the politicians think about common people when the common people themselves do no have time to think about others ?".

It should be our duty to think and act for the country we are living in. You must be wondering has this fellow gone insane. When ever body is thinking to wipe out terror from its root, he is talking to dedicate a separate blog to the terrorist. Would it be an honour to the terrorist ? Well my answer to this is simple. Had some great author done this it would definitely have been an honor to them but not if do that. But let me tell you, nothing can be a better topic to write on than terrorism. New targets, new venue, more confidence, more blame game and the masala that a hot selling book or bollywood movie would require to steal the show. Yes, I am talking about the latest attack on Sri lanka cricket team. The confidence with which these masterminds have slapped on the face of a nation is really a thing to emulate. One wonder what these terrorists want. Whom do they want to target. A Nation, its soldier, its culture, youth, women or children. Now visiting sports men have added up to the list. Well this is not the first time when hardliners have attacked on players. The Munich Massacre of 1972 summer Olympic in which 11 Israeli Olympic team member were taken hostage and then killed really shook the world. The recent incident seems that the terrorist wanted to make remix of Munich massacre for the new generation. The comfort with which they reached the spot and then walked away comfortably is really praise worthy. Viewers keeping close watch on this incident must have seen video footage, on new channel, of how comfortably three of the terrorist heavily loaded with ammunitions crosses police vehicle. Not a single of the 11 terrorist as claimed by news channels were caught or killed. Now the blame game has started. Ministers from Pakistan blaming India that it was a revenge taken by India for the mumbai attack. All I can say it's "A good bouncer". The cricketers were lucky to survive the attack. I could only pray that every one of us would get lucky so that we can evade the bullets of these terrorist and could die our natural death because the ease with which they are reaching their target it seems that only God can help us.

A Salute to the Martyrs of Mumbai

The night of 26th Nov, 2008 has made its marks in the history of India but all for wrong reasons. Few terrorist armed with modern weapons started firing blindly as if they were playing some latest video game and were scoring points by killing innocent people. The horrifying experience that startled the whole world ended after around 60 hours of tireless effort from our commandos. Its very difficult to believe that an attack of such magnitude can take place in the commercial capital of India and that also in places like Hotel Taj and oberoi. Well we all know that the terrorist have no religions and its very difficult to realise what goes in their mind but the intelligence failure that has taken place is really worrisome.
Media has termed this incidence as India's 9/11 but they forgot that 9/11 in India has started occurring frequently be it in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore or Hyderabad. America has learnt its lesson after just one 9/11 and has not allowed the incidence to re-occur but God knows when will India learn its lesson. At the end of the operation politicians started their duty by giving speeches and announcing compensation to the deceased. Indians started forwarding SMS to lit candle in memory of the brave commandos and pay homage. I respect their feelings but will the terrorist care for these feelings and stop attacking India. Friends these terrorist should be replied by action and not words. Indian police have been demanding police reforms since a long time but the politicians have no time to think upon it. RPFs at CST railway station were facing the terrorist with lathis in their hand . Security gets beefed up after every attack but that lasts only for few days.
Now the question arises what should be done ? Should Indian intelligence agency and security forces learn from the American and British forces. Lack of proper co-ordination between different Indian forces and the multi level hierarchy causes a major problem in the proper functioning of our forces.
Whatever the attitude of our politicians might be our brave forces never think twice before jumping into the war to save the life of Innocent Indians. We salute the Martyrs from our heart and hope their sacrifice would act as an eye opener before its too late.
May your soul rest in peace

Finally the kangaroos under the Tiger's Paw

At last team India has achieved what every Indian cricket fans dream of. The 2-0 win over Australia in Border-Gavaskar Trophy has proved that the young warriors have matured. Now we are ranked No. 2 (Still behind Australia) in ICC test team ranking. But are we on the verge of breaking the dominance of Australian team. Probably yes. Some of the critics are skeptic that with the retirement of Ganguly and Kumble a void would be created in the dressing room and that may hamper the team prospect of becoming number one. The charismatic leadership of M.S. Dhoni is already proving them wrong. After showing his leadership quality in the Shorter forms MSD has also proved himself in Test match. Let us hope that the new talents getting in the team are not deciduous in their performance and give a consistent performance and break the polarity in the game. With this action the have again proved that Maharashtra is at their Mercy and they have no respect for the law of land. What was the fault of the candidates who had travelled long way to appear for the exam. In search of job and food men have crossed borders and in this case the unlucky ones are only moving within their country for which there is a provision in the constitution. Strategic places like Connaught place, Karol Bagh and India Gate was chosen this time. Once again the security across the country is beefed up after this incidence as it was done after the earlier blast of Ahmedabad and Jaipur. Our Hon. Home minister says that he was aware of Delhi being the next target still he could do nothing to save the life of those unlucky ones. How alert our security system is that after all the information the terrorist succeeded in implanting Bomb at The India Gate. Thanks to the alert rag picker who found the live bomb and was diffuse on time.
The two live diffused at Regal Cinema and at India gate was due to the alertness of citizens. This incidence clearly sends a message that if we want to live safely then we have to keep our eyes and ear open. In a country where there is scarcity of police force, it can hardly keep vigil at every nook and corner. Each and citizen of this county should act as an alert vigilant. Never ignore any suspicious activity with an attitude of "It hardly matters to me", because tomorrow anyone can be the victim. Government should also make sure that security system that is brought into force after every blast should not be relaxed after few days. Only a combined effort can help us to fight against these enemies of mankind.

KYA IDEA HAI SIR JEE

This post refers to Idea's cellular advertisement. They use to advertise their service with a social message hidden within it. If we remember their previous ad it was related to normalising the communal tension in a village. The Bhumihars (an upper cast) and the Kurmis (a lower cast) were fighting among themselves. When the matter came to panchayat the sarpanch's phone rang and he clicked with an idea of referring the person with their phone numbers and not with their names. This idea solved their problem as the name which was the root behind the problem was abolished. "GREAT IDEA". Their latest offering is to provide education to the rural children using mobile. An elderly person comes with his grand-daughter to admit in English medium school but the seat is already full. Principal is worried by seeing this and thinks how to accommodate these children in his school. Suddenly an idea clicks him and he use the mode of distance education using mobile phone to provide education. Not only this Laxmi Raghav the face of rural children was awarded the best student of the year. Thanks to the idea mobile. A great way of marketing using the current social problem that India is facing at present. Surely this ad must have touched the heart of millions. A great way to bring forward a social message but will this help in selling a product. Neither will any one use their mobile to provide distance education nor will they use it to replace their name. Major customer base of mobile is the youth and the product ad should be targeted towards them. Surely its a great entertaining ad but lets hope that it also helps in selling the product. But yes hats off to the man behind the concept of " Kya Idea hai Sir Jee"

The Sorry state of Indian Politics

Eyes of the whole world was directed towards India on 22nd July when the UPA government was about to prove their majority in the Lok Sabha. The US government was specially interested in the process since it was very important for the nuclear deal. But the incidents that took place on the D-Day and few days early really shocked the entire nation. First of all few MPs jailed on the charge of serious crime were released on bail jut to vote for the government. Ministers of smaller parties got a golden chance to get their demands fulfilled. Shibu Soren Of JMM got his ministerial berth back and the chair of deputy CM for his son. Ajit Singh got his long pending demand of rechristening the name of an airport on his father Ch. Charan Singh names. Although he later switched his side. And the most shocking of all was the minister flashing one crores of rupees in Lok sabha. The ministers claimed that they were offered this money by SP leader Amar Singh in order to abstain from voting. This case is under investigation but we all know that the true story behind this, like many other different scandals, would never be known to the common man. At last the UPA government got a new lease of life. They were recovered from ICU but that's only for next 7-8 months. This no-confidence motion was on a trailer of the big flick i.e The general election due early next year. Friend gear up to watch Indian democracy lying on its knee in the coming carnival.

Analysing IPL through Potter's 5 force Model

IPL, Indian Premier League, "Manoranjan ka Baap" ( father of entertainment). This is the term that the promoters of IPL used to popularise IPL. But while conceptualising IPL had Lalit Modi analysed his product using Potter's five forces model before launching his product. Well if not then lets do it.

Force1: Threat of new entrants:- As far as threat of new entrants is concerned IPL is second player in India market. ICL was the first entrant but it did not succeed in the market. Seeing the parties, players and money involved in IPL hardly any new player would dare to enter the market. Other sports like football and hockey is not that popular in India that league match would be held in India.
Force2: Threat of buyer :- Buyers in this case is Indian viewers. With the initial success of IPL there hardly seems to be any threat from buyer. The crazy indian fan can digest any form of cricket and in any amount. But the question is how long can they sustain the interest in Indian viewers. Let us see
Force3: Threat of Suppliers :- Here the suppliers are the players, the sponsors and the media. Players were put for sale so IPL was able to draw top players with the money it provided. The glamour and the promotions were also able to draw the sponsors and after initial revolt the media too gave up and now they are covering all the matches. Half of the the news time is captured by the news of IPL.
Force 4: Threat of Substitutes :- The substitutes of IPL could be the former version of cricket i.e. ODIs, test matches, other sports and other source of entertainment. Since this form of cricket hardly show any cricketing skill there is a high risk of substitute from other source of entertainment.
Force 5: Threat of Rivals :- After seeing the failure of ICL and the initial success of IPL one can safely conclude that IPL won't face any threat from its arch rival ICL and with the risk and money involved in this business no other party would dare to float a new league.
After publicising a lot and roping on some some eminent players IPL has achieved the initial success. The crowd and the TRP rating that the initial matches have achieved are witness to its initial success but the question remains will this long cricketing carnival would be able to draw the same crowd year after year or whether the initial success was result of customers inquisitiveness testing a new product. Only time will reply this query.
Comment please !

EXAMS OVER

Writin a blog after about three months. Rebuked by everyone. Very few person to understand him and that makes him feel lonely. He could not show his expertise in the field he is good at until someone like Ram Shankar Nikumbh come in his life to make him and the world realise his potential. This is what Taare Zameen Par, the latest blockbuster from Amir Khan is all about. This three line story seems to be very normal bollywood flick but you are wrong. This movie has the essence of the problem that the modern society is facing. Ishaan Awasthi and Dyslexia was only representative of the problem. There is a child in every house hold its different that all of them are not suffering from Dyslexia but they have some or other problem. No on is there to understand him, he feels lonely and left one in this society. This leads him to take wrong path to come out of his loneliness and that's the reason that the modern society is witnessing so much violent act from the school going kids. Amole Gupta (Writer & creative director of TZP) and Amir khan has done a wonderful job by recognising this problem and presenting this movie in front of the world. This must act as an eye opener for school teachers and parents to understand the need of every child and help them out to overcome their problem.

NANO- A boost to India's technological Innovation

When sometime in 1995 Mr. Ratan Tata announced that TATA group would be coming out with Rs. 1 lakh car there was strong criticism from almost every section of the society. Be it environmentalist or industrialist. Every one had their own reason of disagreeing to his idea. But this man kept his promise and came up with the common man car. Seeing the importance and criticality of the project he gave it in an experienced hand of Mr. Girish Wagh. He was given a time frame of 30 months and was told to start from scratch. He choosed his own set of experts and came up with the dream car in stipulated time. People say that the condition in India is not suitable for innovation but while saying this they forget that those who are coming up with new innovations are working in the same condition.
In his article regarding NANO Management Guru C.K. Prahalad gave a term that INNOVATION SANDBOX. According to him in a country like India there would be many constraints particularly when you are working on a product for people at the Bottom of Pyramid. But working under these constraints would help you to come up with something innovative and that's what Mr. Wagh did.
There was sharp reaction from all the automobile giants almost everyone planning to come up with similar project. But after all India has taken the lead and the world has accepted her leadership. Hats off to Mr. Ratan Tata and Er. There were protest against them throughout the nation. All the products that were being endorsed by our star cricketers registered a sharp decline in their sale and as a result all the advertisements featuring them were sent off the air. Then to their rescue came the 20-20 world cup. India won it and their fans took no time in accepting them back. Industries and ad-agency signed them back and our stars were sold like hot-cakes.
Then came their average performance against Australia. Cricket lovers took it in true sports spirit perhaps the party of 20-20 world cup was not yet over. Then came the mother of all battle the India vs Pakistan series and India's performance in this series made the team all time favourite. All the news channel as well as the newspapers would be found bragging about the present team composition and their winning spirit. Well winning and loosing is a part of game and the players should not be pampered or rebuked on their performance. But after all ye India ka cricket hai Virru. Most of us aspire for a good break in the corporate world with a fat salary package, and satisfaction in his job. My aspirations were not different apart from that I some time also thought of starting my own venture. With this thought in my mind I joined NEN through my institute IISWBM and got a chance to attend a seminar at IIM, Calcutta on being an Entrepreneur. The two day stay at IIM was truly memorable and motivator like Mr. Sunil Handa was truly mind boggling. I would be sharing few points that I learnt there in this blog.
Starting with the qualities that an Entrepreneur need we will move on to the problem that he might face in his due course. The first quality that an entrepreneur needs is a strong determination, the courage to reject the fat pay package that he might be offered once he completes his MBA, the courage to handle the peer pressure and the ability to handle criticism. One you are equipped with these weapons then jump in the battle-field but make sure that your parents are there in the field along with you as your principal supporter and advisor. A person cares about his job more if it is personal to him take for example a cricket match. Even a die-hard cricket fan would be less enthusiastic when the match is between two different nations but his interest level would certainly rise if one of the participating nation is his own. The crux of the matter is that when something personal is at stake then one would participate more enthusiastically. So when we start our own business then we would give our 100 percent to make it successful because at that time it would be something very personal to us.
Some of us have the notion that it would be quite beneficial to start a business after working for few years and gain some experience or increase our contacts. When one works for few years many of them would become accustomed to the job and would think twice before leaving it and would not dare to take risk at an older age. As far as contacts are concerned one can hardly make contacts with the upper echelon of the organization while working at a lower position and after all we are human being we should know the technique to socialize with the person of our need and make contacts by something called “Ghusao technique” (The term given by Mr. Handa to make contacts forcibly). As far as experience is concerned one hardly starts a business in the field of his experience. There are examples of many entrepreneurs who were successful only after two or three venture so one should not be discouraged at the failure of their first venture. We should jump into the endeavor and once we face the real situation we would learn everything. One should be ethical while doing the business and should always think about the nation, the society, his family and if time permits then about himself.
Obviously India is prospering but on the other hand “Bharat” (read as rural India) is lagging behind and until and unless we bridge the gap between India and Bharat the nation as a whole would not prosper. One way of doing this is to create jobs for the youths of rural India. There are many job seekers and we have to create job for these ever increasing job seekers. Hope we would succeed in our mission.

CHAKDE INDIA

At last India achieved that no one had thought of. Winning a world event after 24 years without the famous Trio was really something to be cherished for team Dhoni. The tournament where each player played without any pressure was enjoyable. This match broke many concept like laptop training, coach guidance and cool temperament. The concept of 20-20 has changed the definition of cricket. You have to be aggressive and a great hitter. The bowlers had very tough time during the tournament. A run rate of 8 was considered to be decent to compete. Imagine if this be the run rate in ODI's. Who can forget Yuvi's 6 6 6 6 6 6 against England. What made India perform so splendidly. Was it the motivation from Sharukh's blockbuster ChakDe India. Were they forced to see the movie before every match. Seems so. Was it the Chak De effect that made Indian hockey player win Asia cup. One should give a deep thought over this and if its true then what would happen to the support staff

The ill-fated night of my life

During our School days we were often given a very common topic to write an essay on i.e. "The most im-merobale incidence of your life". Had this incidence occured earlier in my life I would have very strong contents to write on. It was 21st April and I was going to Ranchi from New Delhi to attend an interview for admission to a B-school. The plan was made all of a sudden so, I could not get the reservation in any of the train. At last I borarded the general compartment of Swarnjayanti exp. little knowing that I was on an ill-fated journey. As usual the general compartment was very crowded but some kind-hearted person offered me the seat and I accepted, little knowing that they had some other plan going in their mind. In the span of 8 hours we had become very Good friends. At around 11 Pm when the train was about to reach Koderma, where my so called friends of eight hrs. were bound to get down, they took out a pack of biscuit and offered me one. At first I refused but when they the started eating from the same pack and insisted me to take one, i could nor resist and took one. That one biscuit was enough to toxicate me and when I opened my eyes it was the second third day and I was in Hospital. I was surprised to see my relatives surrounding me around my bed. Every thing was beyond my comprehension and after few minutes I realised what had happened to me. They had taken my bag which contained my precious life time earnings- my certificates. I was left with only the clothes I was wearing. They had robbed me of everything.
I had a very hard time after that preparing my duplicate certificates. So any one who go through this Blog please make sure never to accept anything from your co-passenger while travelling. Please note that I have used the term co-passenger and not stranger because if someone spend eight to ten hours alongwith you then he can't be strangers so it in your interest to follow this advice of mine.

The Blame Game in Indian Cricket

The dream of world cup for team India died a premature death. Team India returned back in the cover of darkness. The Indian Saas-Bahu were greatly relieved by their loss reason was simple that they would now get the chance to tune into their favourite channel. But after this superb inning the blame game in Indian cricket team started. BCCI blamed the players for concentrating on their endorsements more than their game and later on issued fresh guidelines for the players to follow. Coach Greg Chappel blamed the senior players for not obeying and not giving respect to him and completing the blame game our star players blamed their Guru that being a foreigner he doesn't care for their sentiments and are often insulted. Little did they cared that by pointing fingers on each other they are spoiling the already tarnished image of Indian cricket team

Blocking Samjhauta

The blast in Samjhauta Express on the ill-fated night of 18th February killing 67 persons is a setback on the ongoing peace process between India and Pakistan. The life line between the two countries joining the relatives on the two sides of the border was targeted to derail the warming relation between the two rivals. Experts suggest that the timing was also perfect as Pakistan's foreign minister is arriving New Delhi on Tuesday for talks on peace process between the two nation. The terrorists have tried to give this blast the form of arson but it was their bad luck that two of the bombs went unexploded and investigating officials could make out the reason behind this fire. Had they been successful in proving this fire to be arson the direct blaim would have come upon the Hindu extremists and that would have proved to be a real deterrent in the ongoing peace process.
The governments on both the sides have shown their maturity by coming up with statements to continue the peace process building measures. Both the governments have refrained from pointing fingers towards each other and have realised the intentions of the terrorists groups and have vowed to fight against them.
The train started in 1976 following Shimla Accord has run uninterruptedly for over three decades but whenever there was tension between the two neighbours, be it operation blue star, Babri Masjid demolition or Parliament attack, this samjhauta has always been threatened. This explosion has also thrown light on the laxity in the Indian railway security. The Indian government should try to fill these loop holes and continue the peace process with Pakistan. If the despite of this blast the peace process continues smoothly then it would be real defeat for the person behind this heinous act.

Cauvery Vs Baglihar

Sharing of natural resources has always been a major cause of disputes between neighbouring states and when the resource is water then it is definitely a major cause of concern. Recently India witnessed two major verdicts in this water share issue. One was within the land and the with its arch rival Pakistan.
Within the land the dispute was between Karnatka and Tamil Nadu with both the states fighting over Cauvery water. The dispute is over 100 years old with agreements held between them as back as 1892 and 1924. With the spiralling tension between both the states the Cauvery Water Dispute Tribunal was constituted on June 2, 1990. When the tribunal gave its interim verdict on June 25,1991, directing Karnataka to release 205 tmcft each year to Tamil Nadu, there was widescale violence in Karnataka. Again when the final verdict was awarded on 5th Feb, 2007 Karnataka witnessed widespread protest against it. The cause of resentment is the 192 tmcft of water that Karnataka has to release for Tamil Nadu at Billigundulu . The Tribunal has taken all the cases into consideration before awarding this final verdict with an option to disribute the water proportionately if there is shortage of water in a water year(June 1 to May 31). But the two neighbours instead of co-operating with each other are fighting over the issue whose solution could not be evolved in the past 100 years.
On the other hand a few days later after this verdict there was also the verdict given by the World Bank's neutral expert Raymond Lafitte. The row is over Baglihar dam that India is building on Chenab river. The world bank turned down Pakistan's contention the the dam would violate the Indus water treaty but also suggested India to reduce the height of the dam and in the process both the parties seemed to be satisfied with the verdict. Definitely it suggest the strong confidence building measure between India and Pakistan whose relationship is improving due to the efforts from both the sides.
Karnataka and Tamil Nadu should emulate this example and compromise with the situation to build an healthier relationship between them

The Inspiration called GURU

"Dare to Dream" is the simple one line message that Mani Ratnam's latest Film GURU conveys. The film, portraying the life of Indian Business Tycoon Dhirubhai Ambani, inspires today's youth to be an entrepreneur and not to run after fat salary package. Imagine what would be India's position if it can give the world at least five more GURUs.
But one mistake that Mani Ratnam Made while conveying this message was to compromise with the Law of Land while achieving ones dream. No one can justify that to build ones empire we can compromise with the law or circumvent it according to our will. Moreover the language that GURU (Abhishek Bacchan) uses to refer his parents is not acceptable and that too in this era when the youths are loosing respect for their parents.
As far as acting is concerned both Aishwarya and Abhishek are marvelous. Abhishek has proved that he is ready to take over his father's empire of stardom. The makeup artist have done their job well. But it seems that at the end of the film Abhishek had forgotten that he has been attacked by paralysis.
How can we forget the awesome music of A.R. Rehman. He has proved that the combo pack of A.R. Rehman and ManiRatnam can glue the audience till the end of the movie. So overall it is a great movie

The Demon Of Nithari Village

The gruesome killing of small children in the Nithari village of Noida has send a wave of shock throughout the country. The dead remains of small kids dug out from the bungalow of Mohinder Singh Pandher reveals the inhumane nature of human beings.
This incidence has thrown light on the shortcomings of not only the police administration but also the media. On its part the police did not take timely action against the complain of disappearing children of nithari village which resulted in the death of thirty Innocent kids.
We all are aware of the lackadaisical attitude of Indian police and specially that of UP and BIHAR. On its part the media did not take up the case at appropriate time. Had the media highlighted this case two years back, when the children had started disappearing, the administration would have surely sprung into action on time to save the life of those Innocent children.
The problem with this issue was that it was neither a case of any high profile personality nor was there any pressure on the police from any strata of the society. How active police can be in solving these two types of cases can be revealed from the case of Anant, the child of Adobe India CEO, who was kidnapped a few months ago. The wide media coverage and the position of Mr. Gupta (Anant's father) brought him back home in few days. This incidence shows that our police force is competent enough to solve any case, the only thing that they need is a driving force. But can't they work without these forces ?
Now when the Nithari issue has become the headline of every newspaper and channels, the political parties are trying to bake their own cake. I wonder what difference their visit would make. The UP government has announced an ex Gratia of 5 lakhs to the family members of the deceased and has suspended few officers of that area. Now when the UP Assembly election is nearing these acts would surely help the government in gaining the voters sympathy. But what about the weeping parents and the frightened kids of Nithari village. Who would bring the smile back on their face ?
A proper co-ordination between the administration, media and citizens would only prevent the re-occurrence of such types of incidence. The police should take timely action on every trifle complaints. The media instead of running after hot and spicy news for their Page3 should be aware of their roles and should bring such types of news on the national canvas as soon as possible. The citizens on the other hand should not hesitate in approaching the police as well as media. A proper co-ordination among these three pillars of the society would only help to keep the anti-social elements at bay and would make this world a beautiful place to live.

Who will bear the cost

The recent issue of Times Of India published some articles which shows the money wasted by our politician. Very often the speaker has to suspend the session without any work being done. This has resulted into a huge loss to the Indian treasury. The cost of running a session in the parliaments runs into lakhs of rupees per hour. But our leaders have never bothered about this.
Another article of this paper revealed that the speaker of Delhi Assembly has spent an amount of nearly eighty lakhs on the renovation of his official residence. And who can forget the uproar caused by Trinamool Congress in Kolkata assembly against Singur incidence. They destroyed precious furniture without ever thinking about their importance and the burden it would lay on the treasury. Now the question arises who would bear these losses ? The unanimous answer that comes out is we the tax payers. But for how long would the taxpayers be punished for the mistakes done by their leaders. Perhaps forever because in this case the Law makers are the Law breakers.

Is Spelling correctly that important

Hello friends. This unexpected event (the profit gained by Indian Railway ) has become a matter of discussion not only in India but also in abroad. Representatives from foreign universities are meeting Mr. Lalu Prasad to know his managerial skills and the steps he adopted to revive Indian Railway.
This is a perfect example of strong determination. It shows how determined Mr. Lalu made a head start into National Politics. The same Mr. Lalu was charged of corruption and was blamed of spoiling Bihar when he was its Chief Minister. It shows both the nature of Mr. Lalu. One who could transform a loss making unit into a profitable one and the other who could push prosperous Bihar into the most backward state of the country. No one knows his intention behind these two moves but one thing is clear that a politician can do whatever he like. Then why don't they think in favour of the country

Gandhigiri

Gandhigiri, the latest term for Gandhian thoughts. You guessed it right I am talking about Raj Kumar Hirani's latest blockbuster Lage Raho Munna Bhai. This film shows how a gangster solves his problem by applying Gandhian thoughts in his life. When all his violent ways seemed to be useless in solving his problem he applies the last option, suggested be Gandhiji and it worked well. The new way of popularising the Gandhian thoughts among today's youth in their own language is truly marvelous. This film has a strong message peppered with right proportion of humor. This film has proved its mantle on the box-office but a film with such a strong message can be said to be truly successful only if it is able to change the life of at least one Munna Bhai of real life.

My Birthday

8th September was my birthday. I celebrated it alongwith my room mates by simply cutting a cake. There was no special dish on this occasion. This was the first time that I had cut a cake on my birthday. But truly I enjoyed it.
Some interesting thing also happened on this occasion. In my Orkut profile I had restricted my birthday to myself. But I was unaware of this fact. Throughout the day I waited for birthday wishes from my friends in Orkut but received none. It was only in the evening that one of my friend told that my birthday was not displayed in the upcoming birthdays list. It was then I realised the reason behind no wishes from my friends.
But above all I enjoyed my first birthday celebration after 24 years.

Lets Laugh

You must be wondering why there is such a long break in my Blog. All the educational institutions are preparing for this auspicious day in full swing. Students must be burning midnight oil cramming over the speech that they would deliver in the praise of their teacher. Others must be busy preparing for the cultural show. Teachers would be worshipped on that day resembling the Gurukul tradition of ancient India.
The question arises Can we still boast of the healthy student-teacher relationship that prevailed in those days? Can we still think of sacrifice being made like that of Ekalvya?
Seeing the recent activities in some parts of the country one would definitely give the answer as "NO". Leave aside the question of sacrificing ones life, students are not even ready to obey their master.
In Chandigarh students of MCM DAV Girl's College protested against alleged slapping of a first year student by a teacher over using of cell phone in the campus. They demanded for written apology from the teacher. At last the authorities surrendered before the students and they allowed conditional use of cell phone in the campus.
In Meerut some girl students of Chaudhary Charan Singh University went on rampage and broke into the vice-chancellor's residence damaging property. These students were angry with the vice-chancellor's order to re-examine the examination papers.
And the most horrible of all the incidents was that of Ujjain. Students, protesting against the principal's decision to cancel the student's union election, manhandled professors of Madhav College which led to the dath of Prof. H.S Sabharwal and two other professors were admitted to hospital in critical condition. This incident shocked the entire nation.
Guru Dronacharya, if alive would have definitely wondered what would have happened to him if in today's situation he had asked Ekalvya to chop off his thumb.
Incorporating politics in education has completely overturned the face of education system. Backed by the politicians, the student leaders seldom miss any chance to show their dominance in the campus. If the situation remains the same then the days are not far when the faculties would rarely bother to advise their disciple. Both of them would have their own ways to go and that would really be a grave situation. With the youths having no one to guide India's future would be bleak.

Where are the doctors

This post has got nothing to do with the doctors who abstained from their duty during the anti-reservation protest.
I vividly remember the day when I was in class VI. Our teachers had staff meeting and as a rule our seniors from class XI came to mind the class. One of them asked each of us about our ambition and nearly 60% of us replied that we would like to be a doctor and practise in rural areas. He calculated and expressed his happiness by saying that after ten to twelve years there would be no dearth of doctors in the rural areas.
Nearly after eight years, after passing out from high school, I came in contact with most of my classmates, thanks to Orkut. Nearly all of them are now associated with IT industry leaving the poor villagers in despair. Now what was it that forced them to change their decision? Why did India loose so many Doctors? Clearly the answer is the IT boom that India has witnessed in the recent years. It has forced many to change their career plan. It has boosted the Indian economy and provided jobs to lakhs of youths. So we can say that medical world loss is IT industrie's gain.

Bhago Asian Aya

The paranoia among the western air passengers against their asian counterparts has led me to coin this term " Bhago Asian Aya" (Run away from the asians). In the recent week since the alleged plot to blow up ten american flights in the mid air came to light there has been several cases of racial profiling. The Asians and the Arabs were forced off the flight in America and Europe as their appearence, way of talking and behaviour caused suspicion among the civilised europeans. Some of the cases that were highlighted are as under:
1. Twelve indian passengers were detained at Amsterdam when a Mumbai-bound U.S plane was forced to return back shortly after take off because of alleged suspicious activity on board.

2. Two asian students, Sohail Ashraf and Khurram Zeb, were forced off a Manchester-bound flight from Spain on August 16 only because their white co-passengers felt unsafe to travel along with them. Interestingly both the duos were born and brought up in Britain.

3. In another incident at Manchester airport, a British Asian pilot Amar Ashraf was removed from a U.S. -bound flight and questioned by armed police.

4. Another is a case of a doctor from Canada, Ahmed Farooq, who was escorted off a United Airlines flight in Denver after reciting prayers that other passengers regarded as suspicious

5. In another recent incident, Azar Iqbal, a British Asian, was questioned by U.S immigration officials as he stepped off a Delta airlines flight in Atlanta and deported back to Britain.

All these cases substantiate the fact that we Asians as well as the Arabs are looked as fear-factors by the westerns. In all the above cases it was later found that their suspicion was baseless. Afterall all these peoples were allowed to board their flight only after clearing all the security checks. Don't they (the westerns) have have faith over their security officials ? or are they crying wolf? Well if the same situation prevails then the day is not far when the European mothers would calm their crying kids by saying Bete so ja nahi to Asians aa jayenge ( Son sleep down or else the asians would come).

Gayatri Mantra Translated

Gayatri mantra, regarded as the most effective and soothing mantra in Hinduism. Reciting this mantra wholeheartedly brings solace to mind and body. If we give a thought to this problem then we can realise that consumer awareness can't be a solution. After the sale is over even if it becomes beyond the reach of the middle class the rich and the affluent would be there to fill their kitty and we all know that for these page 3 peoples, the costlier the better. The problem remains as it is. What should be done?
Can Boycott be the solution. Well to some extent it could be. But In that case the local garments companies should come up with quality products at a competitive price. These companies can establish their own retail outlet, thus eliminating the need of middle man and saving a huge amount which they can utilise to improve their standard.
We also know that the branded companies use to spend a lot of amount on advertising their products. Hiring the celebrities and using the visual media cost them dearly. Contradictory to this they could use some other cheap but effective means of advertisement. Like using print media, using local celebrities to promote their products in rural areas and we also have our very own IT which could be used as effectively as the other means to promote their product at a cheaper rate.
Above all it is certain that nothing is going to happen without proper coordination between governments, small entrepreneurs and the consumers. Friends can u suggest some other ideas to tackle this problem

SALE

Recently all the middle class people were very happy to see Discount of upto 65% on leading brands such as Koutons, Cantabil, Priknit and the list goes on. Garmets priced as high as Rs. 1200 were available at a nominal rate of Rs. 500. If we go by business policy then even after selling their products at such an heavy discount these companies must be managing to earn a profit for all. We can imagine how much profit the must be earning by selling the garments at MRP. Let us take an example. Garment priced at Rs. 1200 is sold at Rs. 420 after providing a discount of 65%. If the company is securing the minimum profit let it be Rs. 20 then the cost of manufacturing would be meare Rs. 400. Now imagine the profit if the same product is sold at MRP it would be as high as 200%. Now the question arises that are the companies selling products of low quality under the discount scheme? If, yes then have they got the right to do so? The textile ministry should do something to tighten the noose and control the price.

Is this Humanity

This 8 year old boy was caught in a market in Iran for stealing bread.
In the name of Islam he was punished and his hand was crushed under a car
Think Over it ..........

B- School Matrix

With the boom of Indian as well as the world economy the demand for managers is also rising. Companies are offering fat salary packages to get the best in the market and with this the craze of MBA is also rising among the students. Students from every field be it medicine, engineering, IT, commerce or arts are running in the mad rush. The private institutes are utilising this golden opportunity to make money. With no restriction or guidlines from the Indian goverment these inst. are using every way to attract the students. The fascinating advertisments mixed with fifty percent myth are sufficient to attract the confused students. B-Schools are mushrooming in every nook and corner of India. Even some space in centrally located shopping complex is sufficient to make money. The government should lay some guidelines to control this practise.
